Floral Energy is building the bridge to advanced nuclear power
Data centres are facing grid connection waits of up to a decade, however the demand for large quantities of highly available power to support the growth of AI and data centres is here now.
Floral Energy’s microgrids deliver 99.999% available power to data centres in under two years, using gas initially, with the ability to incorporate lower carbon fuels and technologies like carbon capture, integrating low-cost nuclear once it is available. Engineered to continually evolve through technology insertion, Floral Energy’s systems are designed to keep improving cost, carbon and efficiency throughout their life.

Once nuclear is on site, Floral Energy's solution will perform several different, critical functions, including providing peaking power to reduce the number of nuclear modules needed, and supplying power during scheduled maintenance windows, as even the most reliable reactors will need downtime.
Operating complementary power sources, like Floral Energy's, alongside advanced nuclear power, will be the most cost-effective way to maintain continuous power without interruption. This is why Floral Energy is building its systems to be ‘nuclear-ready’ from the start.
Floral Energy is also developing patent-pending technologies that will reduce the operating costs for data centre power; designed to be compatible with low-cost nuclear-powered systems once they are integrated.
Floral Energy will soon be announcing new partnerships with three companies spanning advanced nuclear fission and fusion power. Intended to be the first of many, these partnerships will ensure Floral Energy’s systems, including controls, thermal management systems and maintenance regimes, can be specifically optimised for each nuclear partner's technology.
These partnerships are also important for customers, such as big tech, who see nuclear as their long-term plan. They enable customers to commit to a nuclear future now, while getting power to their site years before new nuclear technology is ready. Floral Energy can offer this 'bridge to nuclear' in an Energy-as-a-Service model: a single, simplified cost of power through the whole transition, rather than customers managing the complexity of the changing technologies themselves as the market moves

About Floral Energy
Floral Energy designs, integrates and evolves power systems and thermal recovery technologies for data centres. Their off-grid power systems are built using a proprietary, modular 50MW Power Block architecture, delivering power in under two years with 99.999% availability and they are almost universally cheaper than national electricity grids.
Floral Energy systems are designed ready to integrate the company’s own novel thermal recovery technologies and next-generation, lower-carbon technologies as they mature, resulting in highly optimised systems with continuously reducing costs and carbon emissions, evolving all the way to nuclear.
Floral Energy is backed by LocalGlobe.
