Our Story
Floral Energy was founded in 2024 by three business leaders with deep engineering and systems expertise who recognised a growing crisis: the exponential rise of AI, cloud computing and electrification, colliding with ageing grid infrastructure that can’t keep pace.
Having played leading roles in bringing the first Rolls-Royce SMRs into commercial reality, they saw nuclear power as the long-term solution for clean, reliable baseload energy but they also knew that widespread deployment was still years away...
This gap also represented an opportunity; the world needed an interim solution: one that can deliver dependable, efficient power now and evolve seamlessly as next-generation technologies mature.
That’s where Floral Energy comes in.

Founded in 2021 by Paul Tobin, GridSwitch is a forward-thinking service provider that manages all aspects of a distributed energy portfolio. GridSwitch provides customised energy management solutions from project inception to asset end-of-life. With a dedicated, experienced team and an advanced, customised financial and technical performance platform, they take on-board all of the operational stress and cost unpredictability to deliver reliable, predictable power supply aligned with customer's financial and performance objectives.
